2 fire incidents reported in Delhi, 6 injured after jumping from building in panic

Delhi Fire Services reported two fire outbreaks on Sunday, one at a factory‑cum‑godown in Swaroop Nagar and another at a godown in Dallupura, east Delhi. The first blaze prompted panic among nearby occupants, leading six individuals to jump from an adjacent building; all were later taken to hospitals and are reported to be out of danger.

The Swaroop Nagar fire broke out in a facility that produced judo dresses and boxing gloves, with stored rexine waste and cotton webbing feeding the flames. The structure, spanning a basement, ground and first floors plus a tin shed, was declared under control at approximately 1:50 pm after fire tenders contained the blaze. Five victims were admitted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital and one to Government Hospital, Burari. Later, at around 3:30 pm, a separate fire erupted at a godown near Dharamshila Hospital in Dallupura; eleven fire tenders responded, and no injuries were reported.

These incidents highlight the risks associated with storing combustible materials in mixed‑use industrial premises and underscore the importance of rapid emergency response in densely populated urban areas. Authorities are likely to review safety protocols for factories and godowns to prevent similar emergencies in the future.
