288 Indians Missing In Nepal Floods, 21 Rescued; Death Toll Touches 270

Earthquake tremors were felt in Nepal on Thursday, days after devastating floods and landslides killed hundreds across the country. The quake measured 3.2 in magnitude, according to available information. The disaster has also disrupted road connectivity between India and Nepal, with the Delhi-Kathmandu bus service temporarily suspended. A Nepal-bound bus service scheduled for August 29 has also been put on hold. India is set to send another consignment of relief material to Nepal on August 28 as rescue and relief efforts continue.

The floods and related incidents have taken the death toll in Nepal to 389. Bodies have been recovered from several districts, including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan, Gorkha, Tanahun, Nawalparasi East and Nawalparasi West.

The Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday said 290 Indian nationals remain not contactable following the devastating floods in Nepal.

According to the latest MEA update, a total of 84 Indians have been rescued. This includes 63 workers from the Trishuli-I project and 21 people from Tamil Nadu.

The update provides the latest official assessment of Indians affected by the floods in Nepal.
