The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) made a surprise check at the Transport Department’s toll plaza at Musunuru, near Kavali in Nellore district, on Sunday (September 6, 2026), and seized ₹2.38 lakh in unaccounted cash.
In the searches that followed, officers found ₹68,000 lying by the road. Another ₹1.70 lakh was in the boot of a car belonging to Motor Vehicle Inspector Banavath Gopi Naik of the district enforcement wing, Nellore, the Bureau said in a release.
The inspector had been collecting money from drivers at the toll plaza with the help of two home guards and a private driver, it said. The investigation is on.
