Comprehensive News & Policy Report

State project director of Samagra Shiksha has urged all private management schools, residential colleges and junior colleges in Telangana to participate in the Swachh Evam Haritha Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2026-27 initiative.

A nationwide school assessment framework launched by the Ministry of Education, SHVR aims at promoting cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, environmental sustainability, and a healthy learning atmosphere in all educational institutions.

The SHVR assessment is a mandatory programme for all schools having a valid UDISE+ code.

District Educational Officers (DEOs), under Prashast 2.0 initiative, school-based disability screening tool, are also directed to issue instructions to all field staff to enable screening of children with special needs, to identify children with potential disabilities.

The DEOs must ensure all teachers access the Prashast portal and learn and sensitise themselves on the disabilities, to identify signs of potential disabilities in the screening process.
