The posts also used videos of soldiers moving through forested terrain, falsely presenting them as footage of recent developments along the India-China border. The visuals were misrepresented to lend credibility to the fabricated claims of Chinese military advances. While localised face-offs have taken place near areas such as Taksing and Asaphila, official sources have dismissed claims of a major Chinese incursion or a military defeat of Indian troops.Join conversation InsightfulAgreeDisagreeSkepticalConcerningPromisingWorth ReadingBig Development There is no evidence to support the claims that PLA forces advanced nearly 50 km into Indian territory or established control over parts of Arunachal Pradesh.
The fact-check also highlighted how coordinated accounts can use identical claims and misleading visuals to manufacture a false impression of major military developments. The Army also urged to rely on credible and official sources for information on border developments instead of falling for unverified claims circulating on social media.
