BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran, on Monday, criticised the speech made by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay in the Legislative Assembly and contended the House was not the “cinema studio” of Mr. Vijay. He accused the Chief Minister of “yelling and shouting in the Assembly and delivering catchy lines in the House as if he has no connection with the law and order is indecent politics.” He called upon the CM to speak issues concerning the welfare of the people in the Assembly.
Pointing out 10 murders that were reported in Coimbatore district in the past month and two murders that took place in Chennai in one day, Mr. Nagenthran said six deaths in police stations were reported since the TVK-led government assumed office.
“When this is the situation, you should have given your reply regarding the law and order situation. You should have taken responsibility for the deteriorating law and order situation in Tamil Nadu and should have proposed measures to ensure the safety of the people,” Mr.
Nagenthran said.
