Comprehensive News & Policy Report

A 24-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his employer after the latter reportedly caught him with his daughter in a compromising position at their house near Kogilu Cross in Yelahanka on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Kiran, a native of Keralam, and the accused has been identified as Anandraj, 45.

Kiran had been working for him for the past few years. The police have arrested Anandraj. According to the police, Anandraj’s elder daughter is studying in Mysuru and had returned home for the holidays. He had reportedly noticed that she had developed a close relationship with Kiran.

On Tuesday, Anandraj left home with his wife, telling his daughter that they were travelling to Tamil Nadu and would return at night. However, the couple returned within a few hours and allegedly found Kiran and the girl together in a room.

Enraged, Anandraj allegedly sent his daughter to a relative’s house in Chickballapur, confined Kiran inside the house and assaulted him with a cricket bat and an iron pipe. Kiran suffered severe injuries to his legs, hands and abdomen before collapsing.

Anandraj later took him to a hospital in an autorickshaw, where doctors declared him brought dead, the police said. A senior police officer said the incident came to light after the hospital sent a medico-legal case (MLC) alert.

The police rushed to the hospital and found that Kiran had died following the assault. The Yelahanka police registered a murder case and arrested Anandraj. The police are also verifying the girl’s age, the officer said.
