ETtech L-R: Neeraj Kumawat and Sanjyot Keer, founders, CuraaD2C (direct-to-consumer) kitchenware startup Curaa has raised Rs 40 crore in a round led by 3one4 Capital, with participation from existing investors Kae Capital, Lumikai, and Better Capital.
Founded in 2024 by chef and content creator Sanjyot Keer and entrepreneur Neeraj Kumawat, Curaa designs kitchen appliances and tools tailored for Indian cooking habits. The company said the fresh capital will be used for product development, branding, and supply chain management, while also supporting its omnichannel expansion plans.
“We have seen demand grow much faster than expected, and the fundraise will help us build the supply chain and operational capacity required to support that growth,” Kumawat said.
The company said it has served more than three lakh households since launch and is adding 25,000–30,000 customers every month.
Curaa currently sells through its own website, Amazon, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart, with Amazon accounting for the largest share of sales.
“Indian cooking is very nuanced compared to other global cuisines. It's demanding, involves multiple different processes, and is very robust. Yet the equipment available is mostly generic. In many cases, you get rebranded or relabelled products imported into India,” said Keer, who also runs the food content platform Your Food Lab, which has more than 3.9 million followers on Instagram.
Kumawat said the company follows an India-first manufacturing approach, with most value addition taking place domestically while sourcing certain components from overseas to optimise costs and supply chain efficiency.
The fundraise comes as the D2C kitchenware segment is seeing a growing number of startups challenge legacy appliance and cookware firms. Companies such as Ember, Cumin Co, Nuuk, and EDT (Edition) are building premium kitchen brands across cookware and countertop appliances, targeting consumers seeking better-designed, higher-quality products tailored to Indian cooking habits.
