The awardees were announced by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on October 31, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The five officers chosen for the prestigious honour are Narayanan T., Deputy Inspector General, Thrissur Range; Arun K.
Pavithran, Deputy Commissioner of Police-II, Law and Order, Kochi City; and Inspectors Jijeesh P.K., Renjith K.R. and Vishnu P. Arun K. Pavithran, Deputy Commissioner of Police-II, Law and Order, Kochi City A total of 490 personnel from Central Armed Police Forces, Central investigation agencies, Union Territories and State Police Forces have been selected for the award this year.
