Goa-Delhi IndiGo flight returns, makes emergency landing after engine trouble

A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight carrying 229 passengers returned to Goa and made a safe emergency landing at Manohar International Airport on Tuesday morning after a technical issue was detected in one of its engines, officials said.

According to flight tracking data, the flight 6E 2102, took off from Manohar International Airport in Mopa, North Goa, at around 9.15 am but turned back shortly after departure following the technical snag. The aircraft landed safely at the airport around 45 minutes after take-off.

“We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers and made every effort to minimise it, including offering refreshments and timely updates. We have also made alternative arrangements for our customers to reach their destination.

The safety of our customers, crew, and aircraft remains our top priority at IndiGo,” the airline’s spokesperson added. The flight was operated by an Airbus A321 aircraft bearing registration VT-ILZ. IndiGo said its pilots followed standard operating procedures after the technical issue was detected and informed the relevant authorities before returning to the airport.
