IIM Indore extends last date for CAT 2026 application; check revised schedule

The Indian Institute of Management Indore announced that the last date for submitting CAT 2026 applications has been moved to 22 September 2026, extending the earlier deadline of 15 September. The extension was issued to provide a final opportunity for candidates who have not yet completed the online registration process.

Registration for the 2026 Common Admission Test began on 3 August at 10 am, and applicants must now submit their forms by 5 pm on 22 September. The CAT will be held on Sunday, 29 November 2026, in three sessions across roughly 170 cities. While registering, candidates may list up to five preferred test centres, and the authority will try to allocate a centre from those choices, though high demand may result in a nearby location being assigned. After the registration window closes, a short edit period will allow only paid applicants to amend their photograph, signature, or city preferences.

CAT serves as the primary gateway to the Indian Institutes of Management and other premier business schools, making the deadline crucial for thousands of MBA aspirants. The additional week is expected to ease pressure on candidates still finalising their applications, while the exam’s multi‑city rollout and limited edit window underscore the logistical complexity of administering the test nationwide.
