Four family members were killed and 2 others are seriously injured after a refrigerator exploded at their home in Chavat Galli in Belagavi, a city in Karnataka. The fire quickly spread through the house, trapping the family members inside, police said.

All were rushed to a hospital and the injured are undergoing treatment. Delhi woke up to a warm and cloudy morning today, with light rain expected during the day. According to the weather department, the minimum temperature settled at 27.2 degrees Celsius, over two degrees above normal, while the maximum is expected to be around 33 degrees Celsius.

Gurgaon Police detained Kalyan Bainsla today, the driver accused of ramming his car into a woman riding a sports bike on Golf Course Road, and said he would be brought to Gurgaon for questioning before being formally arrested.

Police have also added an attempt to murder charge under Section 109 of the BNS to the FIR. The car, a white Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, belongs to an Army personnel posted in Assam and had been borrowed by Bainsla two days before the incident, police said.

The incident, captured on video and widely shared on social media, took place on Sunday when the woman, identified as Delhi-based biker Sia, was riding with a group. Police said CCTV footage showed the car allegedly swerving into her lane and hitting the bike.

Sia has rejected Bainsla's claims that the bikers were speeding and cutting him off, and questioned why he did not stop after the collision if he was remorseful. A woman in Delhi received a call from a person claiming to be Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, who demanded Rs 200 crore as extortion money, police sources said, as per PTI.

The demand is believed to be the highest extortion amount sought in the national capital so far. A case was registered at the Civil Lines police station following a preliminary inquiry, while the Delhi Police Special Cell is also probing the matter.

Landslides struck the Karmatar and Upper Bullung areas of West Sikkim, blocking the road today. The residents were soon evcuated as a precaution. A landslide beneath a local school in Karmatar was reported Monday morning, after which an SSB disaster rescue team was deployed.

Another landslide at Upper Bullung blocked a road to vehicular traffic. No casualties, injuries or property damage were reported, officials said. Heavy earth-moving machinery has been requisitioned to clear the debris and restore traffic.
