Comprehensive News & Policy Report

Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) president K. Kavitha alleged that Adilabad district remained deprived of irrigation facilities despite the Godavari and Pranahita rivers flowing through the region. She accused the previous BRS and the present Congress governments of neglecting the district.

Addressing a public meeting titled ‘Panchajanya Sankalpa Sabha’ at Indervelli in Adilabad district on Friday evening, she criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for holding talks with Maharashtra Chief Minister after ‘considerable delay’ even as farmers were staring at drought.

Mr. Revanth Reddy owes farmers an explanation on when the project would be taken up, she said. She also accused Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao of failing to establish a textile park in Adilabad despite the district producing around 80 lakh quintals of cotton during his tenure as Industries Minister in the past.

Blaming the BRS, Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for failing to revive the defunct Cement Corporation of India (CCI) plant in Adilabad, she accused the three parties of betraying the people of Adilabad district.

Ms. Kavitha said her party had announced BC candidates for the forthcoming Graduate MLC elections in both constituencies, demonstrating its commitment to social justice.
