The union has allocated ₹1.72 crore, which will reach over 1,00,000 active dairy farmers across more than 1,000 cooperative societies in Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod The Malabar Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Limited (Malabar Milma) has announced an increase in its cattle-feed subsidies.
The decision was taken during a recent meeting of the union’s administrative committee to ease the financial burden on local producers. Under the revised scheme, the subsidy for Milma’s balanced cattle feed, Gomathi Gold, has been doubled to ₹200 per 50-kg bag.
A subsidy of ₹100 per 50-kg bag will apply to Milma Bypass, a specialised feed for high-yielding cows. These reduced rates will be available throughout September 2026 across all primary dairy cooperative societies in the Malabar region.
Dairy farmers purchasing True Meal TMR feed, manufactured by the Malabar Rural Development Foundation, through their local cooperatives will also receive a subsidy of ₹1 a kg. In total, the union has allocated ₹172 lakh (₹1.72 crore) to fund the welfare initiative.
The funding is set to reach over 1,00,000 active dairy farmers across more than 1,000 cooperative societies in northern Kerala’s six districts—Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod. Milma chairman K.S.
