The Delhi administration announced a draft Bill aimed at tightening regulation of paying‑guest (PG) establishments across the capital. Under the draft, every PG must obtain a licence from the municipal zonal authority, police clearance and a structural and fire‑safety NOC from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the regional administration within 90 days of operation. Each facility will receive a unique registration number and be listed on a dedicated online portal, “GovPG”, which will display contact details, capacity certificates and allow anonymous student complaints. Additional requirements include functional CCTV covering all entry points, a security guard for accommodations housing more than 15 students, and a resident warden located within 500 metres who can be reached instantly.
