Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) organised a hands‑on clay Ganesha idol‑making workshop for school‑going children on Thursday, aiming to encourage an environmentally friendly celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. MCC Commissioner Savita M.K. addressed the participants, stressing that environmental consciousness should start at a young age and that children can act as ambassadors for eco‑friendly practices in their homes and neighborhoods.
The event took place in Mysuru and drew students from several local schools. In the high‑school category, Vishal of Class 8 from Sadvidya School secured the first prize, while his seniors Sanjana and Preetham (both Class 10, Sadvidya School) earned the second and third positions. Among primary‑school entrants, Mithun S. (Class 6, Geetha Shishu Shikshana Sangha) won first prize, with Vibhashree (Class 5, GBSE School) and Chinmay (Class 7, Pragathi Vidya Kendra) taking the second and third spots respectively.
