Comprehensive News & Policy Report

The ADEETIE (Assistance for Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries and Establishments) scheme, being implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power, has received more than 1,070 Expressions of Interest (EoIs) from MSMEs across the country for Investment Grade Energy Audits (IGEAs). As a result, 203 Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) have been prepared, involving projects worth ₹985.83 crore.

The scheme aims to help MSMEs adopt energy-efficient technologies, reduce operating costs, improve productivity and enhance global competitiveness. About 103 projects received credit sanctions worth ₹707.54 crore. Of this, ₹212.58 crore has been sanctioned for micro and small enterprises and ₹501.05 crore for medium enterprises, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) CEO Akhilesh Kumar Dixit said on Wednesday.

During an interaction with industry representatives and other stakeholders, BEE Director General Krushna Chandra Panigrahy stressed the need for closer coordination among State Designated Agencies (SDAs), industry associations, financial institutions and energy auditors. The EESL has established a special cell to accelerate implementation of the scheme by simplifying DPR preparation and credit appraisal processes.

Launched by Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the ADEETIE scheme is currently operational in 60 industrial clusters across 14 energy-intensive sectors. Medak district is among the identified focus clusters, said a press release.
