Comprehensive News & Policy Report

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has warned candidates appearing for the forthcoming NEET PG 2026 against fake claims circulating on various social media platforms regarding the alleged leak of the question paper before the test.

The board, through its X (formerly called Twitter) account, has brought forth reports of purported “leaked papers” and other exam-related misleading news being circulated online, which have raised concerns among candidates ahead of the postgraduate medical entrance examination. While dismissing all the claims of the NEET PG 2026 question paper being leaked, NBEMS has advised candidates not to trust or act upon unverified claims regarding the exam.

Candidates have allegedly found posts and messages claiming that the examination paper has been leaked or is available through online channels and social media platforms such as Telegram, WhatsApp, and Instagram. However, the board has instructed candidates not to believe such claims unless confirmed through official communication from NBEMS.

The warning comes ahead of the NEET PG 2026, which is scheduled to be held on August 30. NBEMS will conduct the post-graduate medical entrance exam on Sunday in a single shift at over 1,300 examination centres in 340 cities across the country. The board will release the NEET PG 2026 admit cards on August 25 through the official website.

The Union Health Minister JP Nadda had earlier reviewed preparations for the examination and directed agencies involved in conducting the test to maintain strict security arrangements and remain vigilant against paper-leak rumours. As per the new reforms introduced in the exam structure, candidates will now get more time per question, as the number of questions has been reduced to 180, which are to be answered by candidates in 210 minutes, i.e., 3.5 hours.

With the exam around the corner, the board has reiterated that candidates should rely only on official updates and notices issued through its authorised communication channels for any information or update related to the examination, including admit cards, examination centres, timings and other instructions.
