Police officials announced the arrest of Puneet, a man who had cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), after he was found in possession of jewellery valued at approximately Rs 25 lakh. He was detained alongside a co‑accused, Akash, for allegedly targeting passengers who were asleep in air‑conditioned railway coaches.

According to the investigation team, the duo systematically selected sleeping travelers in AC compartments and moved between districts after each theft, complicating detection efforts. Authorities have linked them to multiple theft incidents reported in the Agra‑Mathura corridor, and the probe is ongoing to determine the full extent of their criminal activities.
