The state‑run National Highways Authority of India disclosed on Monday that its 1033 National Highway helpline will be upgraded with advanced technologies such as AI, live location tracking and intelligent emergency‑response systems, while retaining human operators for critical situations.
The service, launched in 2018, currently spans more than 1.46 lakh kilometres of national highways, handles roughly 15,000 calls each day and operates round the clock.
