The forensic analysis of the mobile phone and pen drive seized from the prison cell, where former MP Prajwal Revanna was lodged, during the CCB raid, found over 250 video clips on the mobile phone and the pen drive. These reportedly include porn clips, OTT series and movies.
While the mobile phone had 147 clips, the pen drive had over 100 videos. Prajwal has reportedly told investigators that he used the phone mainly for making calls and denied any knowledge of the videos on these devices. He reportedly claimed that since the phone was circulated among several prisoners on a rotational basis, he did not know who had downloaded the videos and other material found on the device.
Prajwal reportedly admitted to contacting his mother, but said he spoke to her through a phone used by one of her maids rather than calling her directly. He also reportedly told investigators that he had spoken to a female friend.
He is said to have used the mobile phone while in jail to make both regular calls and video calls. The police are now scrutinising the call records and are likely to issue notices to persons whose numbers were contacted from the device.
Investigators will question them to establish who used the phone and the nature of the calls. Prajwal reportedly paid around ₹1 lakh to get the phone which was supplied to him through many people including a prison staff who are now being arrested and questioned.
The police are also examining the mobile phone data and other digital evidence to establish who used the device at different times and the circumstances under which it was operated inside the jail.
