India has consistently called for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the conflict, while maintaining close strategic ties with Moscow.President Putin has also invited PM Modi to visit Russia for the 24th India-Russia Annual Summit.

The dates of the summit will be decided as per mutual convenience through diplomatic channels.PM Modi and Putin had also met recently on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek, where the Prime Minister had reiterated India's position that dialogue and diplomacy were the way forward.
