The director is currently working on an untitled horror project, which will star R Madhavan in the lead role. The film marks his latest attempt to explore the horror genre.Speaking about working with Madhavan, Furia stated to Varietyindia.com, “He was always my first and only choice.

I’m stoked that he has come on board and has already started getting into the world of the film. He is the true OG horror star of the cult classic Indian horror film ‘13B,’ one of my favorite films of all time. His conviction, experience and understanding of serious horror are very rare, and I couldn’t think of anyone better for this film.”Talking about what audiences can expect from the film, Furia shared, “We want to create something audiences have never seen before in Indian horror - the kind of fear they will feel in their bones.”R Madhavan's horror diaries R Madhavan has explored the horror genre before with films like '13B' and 'Shaitaan'.

He also made a surprise appearance in Vishal Furia’s 'Maa', starring Kajol, where he reprised his role as Vanraj from 'Shaitaan'. Madhavan was last seen in 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', which hit theatres on March 19, 2026.The untitled horror film is expected to begin shooting in early 2027.
