Comprehensive News & Policy Report

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday sought the support of the Yadav community for the State government’s major development initiatives, including the Musi River Rejuvenation Project, Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II and Bharat Future City.

Addressing the Sadar Sammelan, he said the government was committed to transforming Telangana into one of the country’s most developed States and emphasised that the participation of all sections of society was essential to achieving this objective.

The Chief Minister said the government was moving forward with developing the Musi Riverfront, expanding the Metro Rail network and establishing Bharat Future City. He appealed to the Yadav community to extend its cooperation in implementing these projects.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to the community’s welfare and political empowerment, Mr. Revanth Reddy said that adequate representation for Yadavs would be ensured in the future. He cited Anil Kumar Yadav’s nomination to the Rajya Sabha, Naveen Yadav’s candidature for the Assembly by the Congress and Eshwaramma Yadav’s appointment to the Yadagirigutta Temple Board as examples of the government’s commitment to the community.

He assured that the government would safeguard the dignity and self-respect of the Yadav community. He said arrangements were also being made to protect cattle at the goshala in Yadagirigutta. Highlighting the community’s contribution to Hyderabad’s growth and cultural heritage, the Chief Minister recalled that the historic Golconda Fort was once popularly known as Gollamkonda.

He also acknowledged the community’s role in welcoming people who had migrated to Hyderabad from different parts of the country. Mr. Revanth Reddy said the government had sanctioned ₹5 crore for the Sadar celebrations and accorded the event the status of a State festival in recognition of the community’s cultural traditions.

Describing Sadar Sammelan as a celebration of self-respect, he said the festival reflected the cultural identity of Telangana. Referring to the caste census undertaken by the State government, the Chief Minister claimed that Telangana had emerged as a model for the rest of the country in conducting the exercise.
