Saudi civil defence says danger has passed in six cities including Yanbu

Saudi Arabia’s civil defence authority confirmed that the threat level has been lowered in six urban areas, notably the coastal city of Yanbu, after a series of missile attacks attributed to Yemen’s Houthi rebels. The agency’s spokesperson emphasized that emergency services have secured the affected zones and that residents can resume normal activities.

The declaration covered six locations across the kingdom’s western region, with Yanbu highlighted as a primary site of impact. While exact casualty figures were not released, authorities reported that no major infrastructure damage persisted and that precautionary measures, such as temporary evacuations and air‑raid alerts, have been lifted. The civil defence also noted that a warning had previously been issued for Mecca as missiles fell on the Saudi west coast.

The incident forms part of a broader pattern of cross‑border hostilities, as the Houthi movement has intensified its missile campaign against Saudi targets.
