BRICS leaders adopted a New Delhi declaration establishing four new agriculture initiatives, including a farmer‑centric BRICS AGRIN and networks for agroecology, regenerative and digital agriculture. The measures are intended to enhance climate resilience, productivity and cooperation among member countries.
The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare announced that a healthy Badri female calf was born in Uttarakhand using Ovum Pick‑Up and In‑Vitro Fertilisation (OPU‑IVF) technology, with the embryo transferred into a Sahiwal recipient cow. The breakthrough results from a joint effort by ICAR‑NDRI, GB Pant University and the Uttarakhand Biotechnology Council to accelerate conservation of the indigenous Badri breed.
Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao told the state assembly on September 10, 2026 that pesticide use in vegetable and fruit farming has caused all foreign markets to reject the produce.
