India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in New Delhi on September 13, 2026, to discuss the West Asia conflict and deepen bilateral cooperation. The talks also addressed recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia’s East‑West oil pipeline and broader regional security concerns.
The defence discussions also took place when Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Vipul met Saudi Arabia’s Assistant Minister of Defence, Khaled bin Hussain Al Biyari, in Riyadh on Thursday.
Indian negotiators secured consensus among BRICS members, resolving disputes between Iran, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and a joint statement will be issued shortly. The breakthrough follows high‑level talks by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with leaders from Iran and the UAE during the 2026 BRICS summit in Delhi.
