The Delhi High Court ruled that membership in a student union linked to a political party does not constitute party affiliation for candidates in the upcoming DUSU elections. The bench also instructed university officials to keep the polls free from any party interference.
The student union’s manifesto is divided into four sections, which outline measures on student accommodation, safety, construction of new hostels etc.
Congress spokesperson K.C. Venugopal announced that the NSUI secured victory in the Garhwal University student union elections. He further warned that the BJP is likely to suffer a similar defeat in the forthcoming Delhi University Students' Union poll, where the NSUI is expected to win by a large margin.
