Addiction, suicide, environment damage: Kashmir mosques to take up issues beyond religion
Religious scholars in Jammu & Kashmir, led by chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, resolved that mosques will regularly address social problems such as drug addiction, suicide, and environmental degradation. The decision, taken at a joint meeting of scholars from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, will see designated Friday sermons focus on a chosen community issue.
