As India probes origin of 5 baby orangutans, Indonesia prepares ground for repatriation
Indonesia's Ministry of Forestry has reached out to Indian officials after five infant orangutans were rescued in Balasore, Odisha, and is preparing to repatriate them if investigations confirm they originated in Indonesia. The case is being treated as a possible transnational wildlife‑trafficking incident under CITES regulations.
