Assam railway network now 100% electrified: What it means for train passengers
The Northeast Frontier Railway confirmed that Assam’s entire 2,589‑km broad‑gauge railway network is now fully electrified, completing the Lumding‑Badarpur hill section. The move is expected to boost capacity, cut costs and reduce reliance on diesel for passenger and freight services.
