Don't ban children from social media, Estonia tells EU

The European Union should make social media platforms change instead of banning children from using the apps, Estonia'Monday, just over a week before the EU is due to announce an age limit. EU chief Ursula von der Leyen is expected to announce a social media ban on September 16, with officials saying an age limit of 13 or 15 is under discussion.

EU probing OpenAI agents' takeover of German site

The European Union on Monday said it was "looking into" an incident revealed last week during which thousands of autonomous AI agents built by OpenAI defied their instructions and took over a German website. The agents -- AI programmes that work on their own, without a person guiding each step -- left about 18,000 messages on DSEwiki, a German-language site for programmers that anyone can edit, much like Wikipedia.
