BSP chief Mayawati accused her nephew Akash Anand of circulating false rumors about her health during a press conference in Lucknow. She reiterated his removal from the party’s national coordinator role and warned that expelled members were spreading misinformation.
She has also taken direct charge of the BSP organisation in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand after dividing the party’s national structure into three sectors. She said sector in-charges for other states will submit regular reports through meetings held every one-and-a-half months.
BSP president Mayawati announced that her nephews Akash Anand and Ishan Anand will be barred from holding any party position, effectively ending their political roles within the BSP. She indicated that their sister Deepika Anand could be considered for future responsibilities, underscoring her anti‑nepotism stance.
The development comes a day after the BSP chief asked former Rajya Sabha member Ashok Siddharth to take ‘sanyas’ from politics for his son-in-law to get any important responsibility in the party
