Long before the NTA paper leak row, why did states oppose NEET?

The State Platform for Common School System‑Tamil Nadu (SPCSS‑TN) has asked the Centre’s High‑Powered Task Force to scrap the National Testing Agency and all centralised undergraduate entrance exams, insisting on board‑exam marks for medical admissions. The demand reflects long‑standing opposition to a national medical entrance test that dates back to proposals in 2010 and precedes the creation of the NTA.

Delhi HC seeks Centre, NTA response over UGC-NET English re-exam

The Delhi High Court has sought responses from the National Testing Agency and the Centre. This is regarding a plea challenging the decision to re-conduct the UGC-NET English examination. The court also directed authorities to decide on refunding examination fees. A candidate filed a plea to quash the notice for re-conducting the English paper. The matter is listed for further hearing on October 6.
