Manipur guitarist Chongtham Vikram Singh, 54, was beaten to death in Delhi’s Kilokari village after confronting a noisy group, prompting a candlelight vigil in Imphal and a demand for a senior‑led police probe. The incident has drawn attention from Manipur’s chief minister and the broader northeastern music community.
He had started out playing lead guitar in bands back in Manipur, before eventually moving to Delhi where he took up teaching at the Delhi School of Music.
Chongtham Vikram Singh , a well-known guitarist from Manipur, had been working as a private music teacher in Delhi for the past 17 years.
