The revised eligibility provisions offer relief to candidates who were admitted to B.Ed., B.El.Ed. or equivalent teacher education programmes before July 29, 2011.Under the amended rules, candidates covered by the exemption will not be declared ineligible for failing to secure the prescribed minimum percentage of marks in graduation.

The relaxation is intended to address the eligibility requirements applicable to candidates who enrolled in the specified teacher education programmes before the cut-off date.However, the exemption is limited to the specified category.
