Telangana will extend all possible support to promote Telugu language, culture, and ancient epics and heritage in Mauritius, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said.

A delegation led by Mauritius Minister for Public Service and Administrative Services Lachmuna Raj Pentiah met the Deputy CM at Praja Bhavan on Saturday.

He said that Telangana and Mauritius have shared cordial relations for a long time, and recalled the common historical and cultural heritage between the two countries and the strong bonds of friendship between their people.

He said Telangana has a special connection with Mauritius through the Telugu language, culture, and traditions. The Telugu community in Mauritius, he noted, is an important part of the country’s rich and multicultural society.

Mr. Vikramarka assured that the Telangana government would help take forward the Ram Bhajanam programme being undertaken by the Mauritius government. “Our government will also provide support in areas of education, culture, research, arts, and language.

The Mauritius Minister said that lakhs of Telugus living in Mauritius are preserving and promoting their language, culture, and traditions through the Telugu Cultural Centre in the country.
