Comprehensive News & Policy Report

The progress of ongoing tourism infrastructure projects at major destinations in Telangana, including Ramappa Temple, Bhongir Fort, Ananthagiri Hills, Nizam Sagar and Buddhavanam, was reviewed by Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TGTDC) Managing Director P.

Gouthami. Officials were directed to ensure timely completion of the works. During a review meeting on Friday (September 4, 2026), Ms. Gouthami assessed the progress of key infrastructure projects, including works related to visitor amenities and facilities, accommodation, landscaping, electrical and civil works, and other tourism development activities.

The Engineering Wing was instructed to closely monitor all major works and submit periodic progress reports on their implementation. She directed officials from the wing to ensure that all works are carried out according to approved specifications and completed within the stipulated timelines.

Officials were also instructed to maintain quality and durability in the execution of the projects. Particular emphasis was placed on completing works at important tourist destinations in a manner that improves the overall visitor experience and strengthens Telangana’s tourism infrastructure.

The status of ongoing works at Haritha Hotels and other TGTDC properties were reviewed too. Ms. Gouthami directed the officials concerned to closely monitor the progress of these works and resolve bottlenecks. They were further directed to conduct regular field inspections and maintain close coordination with contractors, consultants and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects.

“Tourism infrastructure should not be limited to the creation of physical assets. The projects should also focus on providing safe, aesthetically appealing and visitor-friendly facilities that support sustainable tourism and contribute to the economic development of local amenities,” Ms.

Gouthami added.
