A three-year-old baby boy died after he fell into a water tank in his house in Bojanapuram village on Saturday. The victim was identified as M. Akash, son of the couple V. Madesh, 30 and M. Jayalakshmi, 28. As the couple were busy engaging their relatives in the house, they left the boy on the veranda of the house where he was playing with a few toys.
It was after some time, when they went searching for him, that they found the body of the boy in the tank. On being informed, Gudiyatham town police inspected the spot. The body was sent for post-mortem examination to Government Taluk Hospital in Gudiyatham.
A case was registered. A probe is under way.
