The Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions in parts of the city in connection with a Maha Dharna padayatra and a public meeting at the Old Dr B.R. Ambedkar Statue on Tank Bund on Sunday (September 6).
The traffic diversions will be implemented on a need basis from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the padayatra, which will proceed from Dharna Chowk through Indira Park X Road, RK Mutt and Katta Maisamma Temple slip road to the Old Ambedkar Statue.
Traffic coming from Nallakunta towards Steel Bridge will be diverted at Azamabad X Road towards VST X Road and will not be allowed towards Katta Maisamma. Vehicles coming from RTC X Road towards Indira Park will be diverted at Ashok Nagar X Roads towards Himayathnagar Street No.
8 or Bakaram Bridge and Kavadiguda. Traffic from Karbala towards Upper Tank Bund will be diverted at Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda, Gandhi Nagar T-Junction, DBR Mills and Lower Tank Bund. The traffic police have identified BJR Statue, Basheerbagh X Road, Liberty Junction, Secretariat Junction and Old Ambedkar Junction on Tank Bund as potential congestion points.
Traffic coming from BJR Statue towards the Old Ambedkar Statue will be diverted towards Himayathnagar at Liberty T Junction. Vehicles coming from Himayathnagar towards the Old Ambedkar Statue and Secretariat will be diverted towards Basheerbagh X Road or the Hyderabad Traffic Police Complex at Liberty X Road.
Traffic coming from Iqbal Minar towards Liberty Junction will be diverted towards Upper Tank Bund at Old Ambedkar Junction. The traffic police have advised commuters to take note of the diversions, avoid congestion-prone stretches and use alternative routes.
