UP textiles reaching global markets, says Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak addressed participants at the conclusion of the two‑day UP TEX-2026 exhibition in Lucknow, highlighting that textiles from Uttar Pradesh are beginning to reach both domestic and overseas buyers. The remarks were made during the event organized by the Handloom and Textiles Industry Department, underscoring the government’s push to expand market access for the sector.

The ceremony, held on Wednesday, marked the end of a showcase that brought together manufacturers, exporters, and policymakers to discuss growth opportunities. Pathak noted that while the state’s textile base has long been established, it previously struggled to secure markets; recent investments are now facilitating broader distribution across the country and abroad.

Uttar Pradesh’s rich handloom heritage supports the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of artisans, weavers, and small‑scale entrepreneurs. The administration pledged to continue empowering these stakeholders, ensuring that their traditional skills translate into sustainable income streams through participation in global supply chains.
