kms to 1,765 sq. kms by including Ramachandrapuram municipality and five mandals under the limits of the urban body in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District. A GO. No. 203 was issued on the extension of the jurisdiction of the AMUDA.

“The Ramachandrapuram Municipality and five mandals – Ravulapalem, Atreyapuram, Alamuru, K. Gangavaram and Ramachandrapuram – are now part of the AMUDA,” AMUDA Chairman Allada Swamy Naidu said. In March 2023, the AMUDA was constituted with 120 revenue villages and two urban local bodies - Amalapuram Municipality and Mummudivaram with headquarters in Amalapuram, with a total population of 7.09 lakh.
