Applications invited for Dr C Krishna Rao memorial awards

The Dr. C. Krishna Rao Memorial Society, based at the Veterinary Home in Telangana, announced that it is now accepting nominations for its yearly awards that honor excellence in the livestock field. The call for applications was made by the society’s awards committee president, V. Lakshma Reddy, who emphasized the aim of recognizing outstanding work by veterinarians, scientists, extension officers, farmers and academicians.

Nominations will be considered across a range of categories, including best field veterinarian, surgeon, gynaecologist, microbiologist/virologist, dairy, poultry, sheep and goat farmers, as well as top-performing veterinary university teachers, undergraduates and post‑graduates, plus a Lifetime Achievement Award. Applications must be routed through District Veterinary Officers in all 33 districts of the state and submitted to the society’s office at Veterinary Home, Shantinagar, Hyderabad by September 30. The award ceremony is slated for October 13.

The awards commemorate the legacy of eminent livestock scientist C. Krishna Rao and aim to encourage continued innovation and dedication within the sector. By highlighting achievements across the veterinary and farming communities, the program seeks to boost morale and promote best practices among stakeholders who play a critical role in Telangana’s agricultural economy.
