Government aiming to create jobs for youth, says Bharath

The government’s push to boost youth employment took centre stage on Saturday as Industries Minister Bharath cut the ribbon for a job fair aimed at connecting local job‑seekers with prospective employers. In his opening remarks, the minister underscored the administration’s commitment to generating new work avenues for young people across the country.

During the event, Bharath disclosed that a semiconductor manufacturing complex is being considered for Orvakal, with an estimated capital outlay of roughly ₹23,000 crore. While the project is still in the planning phase, officials indicated that its establishment could spur a cascade of direct and indirect jobs in the surrounding area.

The announcement comes against a backdrop of rising concerns over youth unemployment, prompting the government to prioritize skill development and industrial diversification. Local residents, educational institutions, and small‑scale enterprises stand to benefit from the anticipated economic uplift, which could transform Orvakal into a hub for high‑tech manufacturing and ancillary services.
