A 57-year-old government employee died after an unidentified vehicle allegedly rammed his scooter from the rear on NH-44 in Shamshabad on Friday (September 11) morning. Syed Zaheeruddin Ahmed, an employee of the Women and Child Welfare Department in Shadnagar, was travelling to work on his Ola scooter (TS 11 EZ 0038) when the accident occurred between 11.30 a.m.
and 11.40 a.m. According to the police, Mr. Ahmed was travelling near Agarwal Estate, about 200 metres from Old Madanpally Thanda, when an unidentified vehicle approaching from behind at high speed hit his scooter. The impact threw Mr.
Ahmed onto the road and he suffered severe bleeding injuries to his head and other parts of the body. He died at the scene. Shamshabad police reached the spot after being alerted and shifted the body for post-mortem. A case has been registered and an investigation is under way to identify the vehicle and its driver.
Police are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to trace the vehicle involved in the accident.
