Kerala Assistant Public Prosecutors Association gets new office-bearers

The annual general body meeting of the Kerala Assistant Public Prosecutors Association convened on Saturday, September 12, 2026, to appoint its new leadership. Deputy Director of Prosecution Zina Divakar from Thiruvananthapuram was elected president, while P. Sreekumar, Ranjana K.C., and Praveen Kumar V.P. secured vice‑presidential slots. Aneesh Joseph was named general secretary, R. Rajesh, Sini Ben and Namitha Jathavedhan took up secretary roles, and Shajahan K.S. was appointed treasurer.

The session was inaugurated by Aneesh M.D., Director of Prosecution (Administration) for Kerala, and overseen by T.K. Manoj, Deputy Director of Prosecution, Ernakulam, who also serves as the association’s president. Senior Assistant Public Prosecutor P. Sreekumar opened the gathering, and Assistant Public Prosecutor Shajahan K.S. from Kottayam delivered the vote of thanks. The election resulted in a comprehensive leadership team covering key districts across the state.

The association, which represents assistant public prosecutors throughout Kerala, plays a pivotal role in advocating for the professional interests of its members and facilitating coordination with the judiciary. The newly elected officials are expected to steer initiatives on legal reforms, capacity building, and administrative support, thereby influencing the efficiency of prosecution services that affect the broader public justice system.
