A lorry driver sustained injuries after a mass of boulders and loose earth fell onto his vehicle at a quarry in the Maramuttam area of Kottakkal, Neyyattinkara, in Keralam’s Thiruvananthapuram district on Saturday morning.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. at the quarry, where several lorries had been parked to transport quarry materials. Huge rocks and soil that had loosened from the upper levels of the quarry’s rockface suddenly fell onto the lorry parked below. The impact injured the driver, identified as Anilkumar.
He is being treated at the Neyyattinkara General Hospital for his injuries. No one else was injured in the incident, according to the police.
