Rajasthan Election Result 2026 Live Updates: Congress wins Ajmer with 37 seats, while the BJP could secure 32. In Bikaner, Congress leads with 15 seats while the BJP has 10 as counting progresses. BJP leads in Jaipur and Udaipur as per the latest poll data released by the State Election Commission.

Vote counting for 10,245 councillor posts across 309 urban local bodies in Rajasthan began on Monday. The elections were held in two phases on September 9 and 11, with 76.42% turnout in the first phase and 70.68% in the second.

The BJP and Congress are closely watched in the civic polls ahead of the 2028 Assembly elections. The polls cover 10 municipal corporations, 51 municipal councils and 248 municipalities, with more than 1.44 crore voters eligible to cast their ballots.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and senior BJP and Congress leaders campaigned extensively, making the results an important indicator of the parties' standing in urban Rajasthan. The results will decide the composition of the state's largest civic body in the current elections.

Once councillor results are declared, mayors and chairpersons will be elected on September 21, followed by deputy mayors, deputy chairpersons and municipal vice-presidents on September 22. Last election: Jaipur had two municipal corporations in the 2020 election, with the Congress and BJP winning one each.

The polls covered 250 wards across the Heritage and Greater corporations, with an average voter turnout of 57.5%. This time, Jaipur went to polls for 150 wards BJP leads in Alwar with 28 seats currently, while Congress is ahead with 23 seats.

Bahujan Samaj Party leads with 1 seat. The Alwar Nagar Nigam has a total of 65 seats. BJP leads in Ganganagar with 30 seats out of 65 seats. Congress leads with 17 seats, while independent candidates lead with 18 seats, as per the latest State Election Commission data.

Congress leads in Bikaner with 40 seats out of 80. BJP is at 27, as per the data by the State Election Commission BJP is ahead in Jaisalmer with 25 seats while Congress stands at 16. In Kota Nagar Nigam polls, BJP has taken the lead with 30 seats out of a total of 100 seats.

Congress, on the other hand, could secure 20 seats as the counting proceeds. Congress wins Ajmer with 37 seats, while the BJP could secure 32. In Bikaner, Congress leads with 15 seats while the BJP has 10 as counting progresses.

BJP leads in Jaipur and Udaipur as per the latest poll data released by the State Election Commission. The CPI(M) is set to form the board in Nokha Nagar Palika after winning 29 of the 45 wards, with the BJP securing 13 and Independents three.

The result comes as a boost for the Left party, which has positioned itself as an alternative to the BJP in the absence of a strong Congress presence in the municipality. CPI(M) state secretary Kishan Parikh attributed the victory to local issues and voter dissatisfaction with the BJP, saying the party had emerged as an alternative on economic and civic concerns.

Across the state, the CPI(M) fielded 192 candidates and around 40 won their wards. The party had also made a surprise electoral gain in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, when Amra Ram won the Sikar seat as an INDIA bloc candidate.

The BJP is leading in Jaipur and Udaipur. Congress is currently leading in Jodhpur Nagar Nigam, Ajmer. The BJP has retained control over the civic body elections, the results of which were announced on Monday. The saffron camp was leading in key urban bodies, including Jaipur, Udaipur and Ajmer.

In the 47 Nagar Parishads, the BJP is ahead in 18, while the Congress leads in 5 and Independents in two. In Nagar Palikas, the BJP is leading in 139 local bodies, compared with 98 for the Congress and 9 for Independents.

The figures shows the party leading in each local body as a whole. The BJP is leading in 9 municipal corporations across Rajasthan, including Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Pali, Bhilwara, Kota, Alwar, Ajmer and Bikaner, as counting of votes continues for the urban local body elections.
