The court, however, allowed her to raise before the trial court the question whether she was performing a public duty and could be treated as a public servant to be brought within the purview of the anti-corruption law. Her argument is that the NSE being a private/non-govt company, it cannot be said that the petitioner was discharging a public duty."The case against Ramakrishna stems from a Feb 11 order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India which said she was allegedly involved in financial irregularities related to fixation and frequent revision of compensation of former NSE employee Anand Subramanian.
