NewsIndia NewsSC junks ex-Delhi mayor's plea for FIR on UP cops NEW DELHI: SC Tuesday refused to entertain former Delhi mayor Farhad Suri's plea for an FIR against UP police for conducting a midnight raid at his city home in search of journalist and Ram temple donation pilferage whistleblower Abhishek Upadhyay.Suri's counsel, Anoop Awasthi, told SC that a Ghaziabad police team had raided Suri's Nizamuddin East residence on the night of Aug 22 without disclosing warrants and corresponding entries at Nizamuddin police station.

They left after Suri denied Upadhyay's presence, Thakur said, adding that Suri could approach senior police officers for registration of an FIR and, if dissatisfied, he could move a trial court with a private complaint against police.As Suri wanted the FIR to be lodged in Delhi, the bench disposed of his petition by giving him liberty to approach the Nizamuddin police station for filing a complaint against the officers who raided his home unauthorisedly.
